More than 60 people attended the Otterpool Park craft workshops at Westenhanger Castle last week (1 and 3 June) as part of our community outreach work.

The Telling the Otterpool Tale events, run by local organisation Strange Cargo, encourage attendees to get hands-on making a craft inspired by the heritage of the Otterpool Park site – a Tudor headdress, a racecourse winner’s medal or rosette.

Three further events at local village halls and Westenhanger Castle will take place, on the following dates:

  • Sellindge Village Hall | 6 August | 11am-3pm
  • Lympne Village Hall | 12th August | 11am – 3pm

Family Open Day:

  • Westenhanger Castle | 21st August | 11am – 3pm

All the events have been planned to be Covid-safe, and as such, some queuing may be required during busy periods. Attendees are asked to bring a face mask unless they have a medical exemption or are under the age of 11.
