Otterpool Park will be a new community that is designed for the future, but respectful of its past, even having its own historic castle on site.
Westenhanger Castle is the jewel in the crown of Otterpool Park – a medieval castle steeped in history with its stunning Grade 1 listed manor house, castle turrets, historic barns and parkland.
The castle dates back to 1343 and has a rich royal history. Queen Elizabeth I talked about “her house in Westenhanger” and King Henry VIII was known to hold parties there as well as hunt in the surrounded park.
Preserving and protecting Westenhanger Castle’s heritage as well as shaping the next part of its history is part of our vision. Our aspiration is that the 14 acres of Kent countryside surrounding the castle will, in time, will become a public park for everyone to enjoy.
